Signing day for college football was fun to watch. There were some surprises out there but all business in Tiger Town. We recruited well and kudos to Coach Venables visiting all the defensive recruits and getting them to stay committed. That had to be a tough situation.
From the look of all the signees, it seems we recruited very well for the defensive and offensive lines. We were also able to be extremely picky on skill positions and go after the exact right athlete.
Chad Kelley getting his letter of intent faxed in at 7:04 am made my day. That kid has it going on and I am predicting will make a name for himself in the orange uniform. The tweeting going on between Stoudt and Kelley made for some hype this past week, but hey in my opinion the kid can back it up. He is confident in his abilities and I am impressed with that.
Overall, I am thrilled with the signing class and for the freshmen that reported early to school in January. That coupled with the extra practice time for the bowl game will make a statement in the early season.
Just a word too, about Milton Jennings, player suspended from basketball for academic problems. In my opinion, I'll take Narcisse any day. Milton is one of the most inconsistent players I hav ever seen. I don't mean to diss the young man, but hey when you are a high school McDonalds All American, the expectation is out there. He never, ever lived up to his potential.
On another note, baseball is just 2 weeks away. Being preseason ranked is a credit to our baseball tradition at Clemson. I plan to be there for opening day, I hope the stands will be filled with fans that are ready for some college baseball! It truly does not get any better!
Until next time, Go Tigers!
